From the literature review, there was a confusion about the meaning of spin-off in Chinese, and we suggest a new Chinese name in stead of the old one. For realizing the domestic spin-off phenomenon and learning more about how the spin-off happens, this study analyzes the secondary data and interviews with the participators. We make a research to explore the factors effecting spin-off, from six companies that were spun off from the ITRI and the CSIST in the last 17 years. And the government held these companies'''' shares till now. Except for sharing the domestic experiences of spin-off and the results of observation, we want to know how to promote in the place without spin-off. This study also confirms those factors that already have been proposed, like the industry life-cycle, the technology life-cycle, the successful cases of entrepreneurship, the degree of organizational involvement, the organizational slack, the selectivity, and the stability of R&D organization. We distinguish spin-off into four categories. They are layering spin-off, grafting spin-off, inarching spin-off, and cutting spin-off. According to the discoveries of this study, we propose six propositions about the spin-off phenomenon: 1.The technical level of R&D organization will determine the source of technology. 2.The changes of markets will effect the promotion of technical level of R&D organization. 3.The higher depree of governmental involvement will reduce the influence of organizational factors. 4.An integrate infrastructure will suit for introducing the emerging technology to spin off .5.The mature technology and the mature mdustry will suit for introducing professional not only from R&D organization but also from external organizations to team up. 6.The experiences of spin-off will effect the composition of entrepreneurial team. 蔡渭水 1997 學位論文 ; thesis 161 zh-TW
