Description
Summary:碩士 === 中原大學 === 土木工程研究所 === 85 === Three different types of soil - Silt Loam, Loam and Loamy Sand, as expressed by the soil - textural triangle of he U.S. Agriculture Department, were used in this study to conduct the heavy metal - Cadmium solution movement and adsorption tests in the soil matrix. There are six parts in this study: 1. pour- ing the same concentration of Cadmium solution into the different types of soil; 2. pouring the different concentration of Cadmium solution into the same type of soil; 3. the continuous sprinkling test in soil containers; 4. the adsorption test in the soils with different water contents; 5. the adsorption test in the soils with different Cadmium solution pH values; 6. the adsorption test in the soils with different Cadmium solution concentrations. The main purpose of this study is to find the possibility of the heavy metal Cadmium reaches the ground water aquifer, and to observe the adsorp- tion tendency of the heavy metal Cadmium in different soil water con- tents, solution pH values and concentrations. The results from the soil tank experiment showed that significant amounts of Cd were found after 10 times injection of the Cd solution. The Cd concentration is the highest in the center and decrease with the depth. In addition, most of the Cd remained in the soil tanks and very little was flushed out by the end of the experiment. This shows that the Cd adsorption by the soil maybe very strong. The results from the Cd adsorption tests showed that the adsorp- tion rate was higher with lower Cd solution concentration, higher pH value, and lower soil water content.
