Description
Summary:碩士 === 長庚醫學暨工程學院 === 護理學研究所 === 85 === ABSTRACT Majority of the previous studies have focused on the evaluations of surgical tec hniques, the type of prosthesis and intra- postoperative complicati ons. However only few studies evaluated the rehabilitation process. Lack of self -care knowledge might lead to the complications of prosthetic dislocation, infec tion, pain, continued range of motion limitation, muscles weakness of hip and gait disorder on the patients. Therefore, the effective rehabilitation nursing interve ntions for restoring the independent functional activities needed to be explored. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of an rehabilitation nursing protocol on the self-care knowledge, progress of functional activities, compliance behaviors, progress hip function and muscle strength within three month after discharge. A Quasi-experimental design was conducted in this study. Seventy patientss were consecutively assigned to experimental (n=35) or control group (n=35). The Reha bilitation Nursing Psotocol was implemented on experimental group whereas contr ol group received conventional routine nursing care. The results showed that : (1) Experimental group had greater improvement in self-care knowledge than control group.(2) Experimental group presented higher performed rate and shorter days to accomplish in 9 critical function activities than control group.(3) Experimental group had higher compliance behaviors to perf orm rehabilitation exercise compared to control group within three after discharge. (4) Experimental group demonstrated significant progress in hip functional activ ities than control group at six weeeks and three months after discharge. (5) Expe rimental group reflected significant progress in hip muscle strength and Trendele nburg' s gate compared to control group at six weeks and three months after discha rge. The nursing protocol of this study may offer an guideline for the clinical st aff to assist patients undergoing hip replacement to perform rehabilitation exerc ise.
