Summary: | 博士 === 中正理工學院 === 國防科學研究所 === 85 === Two algorithms which adopts digital signature techniques are developed in this dissertation. The first one is a multisignature algorithm for electronic document systems and the other is a secure anonymous electronic voting algorithm for general elections.
A modified multisignature algorithm based on RSA cryptosystem is first proposed in this dissertation. It improves the drawbacks of RSA cryptosystem where signing order must be predetermined before applying to multisignature environments. With the proposed algorithm, the signing order can be altered as required during the signing process; furthermore, the signatory can insert his comments into the signature and the size of ciphertext remains constant. Also, any legal receiver can randomly authenticate any individual signature that is signed by preceded signatory instead of iteratively deciphering in order to authenticate former signature. A software system based on this algorithm is designed and implemented. Test results and performance analyses are presented and discussed to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed scheme.
Next, digital signature techniques are also applied to improve an electronic voting system where the fairness and justice of such systems can be sustained with voters'' anonymity protected. An electronic bulletin board (EBB) is proposed to be integrated with digital techniques in the system to improve the drawbacks found in most known electronic voting systems. A practical electronic voting system which possesses the characteristics of anonymous voting and transparent procedures is also designed in this dissertation.
