In the thesis, a robust dc servo motor velocity control system with sliding mode control is presented. First we obtain the transfer function of dc servo motor system and select appropriate variables to find a state variable description which is suitable for the application of sliding mode control method. According to the selected feedback signals, we define the sliding variable, then a sliding mode control algorithm will be designed to satisfy the condition which guaratees the sliding variable reachs and sustains on the sliding surface.
