In the thesis, a robust dc servo motor velocity control system with sliding mode control is presented. First we obtain the transfer function of dc servo motor system and select appropriate variables to find a state variable description which is suitable for the application of sliding mode control method. According to the selected feedback signals, we define the sliding variable, then a sliding mode control algorithm will be designed to satisfy the condition which guaratees the sliding variable reachs and sustains on the sliding surface. Experimental results shown that the control system in the sliding mode has achieved robustness against parameter variations and load disturbances.
