Description
Summary:碩士 === 元智工學院 === 化學工程學系 === 84 === In organic synthesis, the use of phase transfer catalyst in promotingoil-water mixed phase reactions has been well- developed. In most cases, the reaction mechanism proposed by Starks can be applied to understand the distribution of catalyst in the phase equilibrium among the two phases. The rate determining steps in Starks ion pair extraction mechanism involves(i) rate of organic reaction (ii) mass transfer of catalyst in two-phases(iii) equilibrium distribution of catalyst between the mixed phase. Therefore, the understanding of the catalyst distributing in two phase is very important in modeling the reaction by phase transfer catalysis. The prupose of present investigation is to determine the effects of equilibrium distribution of the phase transfer catalyst, amount of catalyst used, alkalinity, temperture, interaction of various organic solvents and the water content in the oil phase. It is envisaged that through these systematic studies on the distribution coefficients, extraction constants and selectivities coefficients to find out the situation of equilibrium distributionof PTC in two-phases, in order to apply PTC technique in organic syntheses.
