| Summary: | 碩士 === 淡江大學 === 拉丁美洲研究所 === 84 === Since the R.O.C. retreated from the United Nations. She has suffered a great deal of strict challenges on diplomacy. After she has struggled for many years, the democratization of politics and the economic power on this small island are well known all over the world. In recent years, Taiwan dedicated herself to participate in the United Nations and the Central American country offered their help and support wholeheartedly increasing Taiwan''s international prestige.
The main area of the country that maintain diplomatic relation with R.O.C. focus on Central America. Thus this area is meaningful to Taiwan. The main purpose of this study is to deal with the political and diplomatic relation between R.O.C. and Central America, in order to let us having more profound understanding.
This thesis is divided into seven chapters. It deal first with motice and purpose, then the discription of historcal background of R.O.C. and Latin American relation and it''s evolution, the foundation and interfering factor of bilateral relation including investigate two questions (the balance of mutual interactive relation and the orientation of leadership), Central American foreign policy formation, decision making process and the intervention of United States of America on this area, the foreign policy orientation of R.O.C. toward Central America analyzing the function and character of Central America in R.O.C.''s foreign policy, the future of bilateral relation, and last the conclusion.
