Description
Summary:碩士 === 淡江大學 === 化學工程學系 === 84 === The brittleness is a major disadvantage of poly(phenylene sulfide) (PPS). This problem may be solved by a chemical blending with polyamides (PA), such as nylon-12. The morphologies of PPS and PA blends were studied. It is observed that addition of small molecules with polyfunctionality, glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) and/or maleic anhydride(MAH), during blending of PPS and PA increase the compatibilization between the two polymer phases. This is confirmed by various physical and chemical analyses, e.g., differential scanning calorimetry, Fourier transform infrared spectrometry, Dynamic Mechanical Thermal analyses and scanningelectron microscopy.
