started transferring from planed economy to market economy.
Under traditional planned economy system all news mediums are
treated as instruments of propaganda that should fully serve
for the routes and missions of the ruling party and government.
All news mediums in the Mainland china are''enterprise units'',
not profit organizations. Market economy is laisser-faire
economy shall ask for the formation of a unified market, and
breaking all types of regional blovkade and authorized monopoly.
There, newspaper are rushed to markets, and planning of
newspapers'' self-support shall be accomplished. Market economy
system brings many changs to the business of the press:first
of all is the increase of types of newspaper. The second is the
expansions of space of pages.Due to the increase of
information, each newspaper expands and increasea its space of
pages.Weekend editions and evening papers come out.Moreover,
contents of news become more versatile. Political and
ideological news are not all of them now, and economy news take
the dominate position. Living consumption, leisure and
entertainment news also become more rich.In order to meet the
requirements from the market and the important needs of
readers, after being pushed to market, they all start working
on marketing researches and public opinion polls. This thesis
mainly uses the field interview method to realize, in depth,the
current developing situation of the news mediums in the
mainland china;compare the differences of the news mediums''
development under planned economy system and market and market
economy system;and perform researches, with analysis of
contents, to the advertisements on major ShangHai newspapers.
Through the changes of advertisements, we try to analyze the
influences that market economy brought to business of the press
in the Mainland China.
