The mechanical behavior of rock may be different as temperature and pressure change. In order to understand the behavior change due to temperature and pressure, Hua-Liang Marble was used in the research. Cylindrical marble were heated at different elevated temperature, and the Brazilian and triaxial compressive tests were performed. The stress-strain curve, tensile strength, post- peak stress-strain behavior, shear strength parameters were analyzed under different elevated temperature and confining pressure. The angle of the internal friction of Hua-Liang Marble shows little change within 300 .degree. C. The brittle- ductile transition pressure of Hua-Liang Marble at room temperature is about 40 MPa.
