Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 應用力學研究所 === 84 === Ping-Ling tunnel provides connection from Ping-Ling freeway
interchange to the town of Tou-Chen in Lan-Yang plain totaling
12.9 kilometers long. Due to tunnel length and Taiwan's higher
ambient temperature the tunnel may face heat dissipation
Trapped heat may accumulate within the tunnel and cause
sustained high tunnel temperature. During tunnel excavation,
deposit of ground water was found trapped within rock
formations. The amount of ground water released was large that
even the construction was slowed. Ground water activity may
increase heat dissipation from tunnel walls, hence, tunnel
temperature may be lowered. This thesis will first examine
rock formation's physical properties and ground water level
distributions along boring locations along the tunnel.
Meteorological data of northern Taiwan region from the Central
Weather Service will further aid the study. More, correlation
will be made between ground water activities and ground water
temperature. In the last section of this thesis, heat
dissipation effect of tunnel walls from ground water activities
will be modeled with empirical simulations.
