Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 電機工程研究所 === 84 === The purpose of the thesis is to investigate the characterist-
ics of the static var compensator (SVC) by conducting field
tests on the three-phase distribution simulator at the
Distribution Automation Laboratory of National Taiwan
University. The applica- tion of SVC can be divided into two
parts. One is on steady state performance and the other is on
transient characteristics. In steady state, SVC can improve the
power factor and reduce the feeder loss. In transient state,
SVC can reduce transient duration and voltage dips. The thesis
takes advantage of the three-phase distribution simulator to
demonstrate the following research: In steady state, SVC is
used to reduce the feeder loss accord -ing to the data from
load forecast. Both the results of simula- tion and field test
prove that SVC can reduce the feeder loss effectively. In
transient state, we simulate the starting condition of an
induction motor. We use SVC to compensate the transient voltage
dips at the same time. EMTP simulations and field tests prove
that SVC can restore the voltage to an acceptable range in two
cycles.
