It is a typical sympodial epiphytic orchid that bears significant pseudobulbs.As the new vegetative buds emergenced,meanwhile the latent buds on the pseudobulb differenitates.The differentiation of latent buds corrrlates to their node position on the pseudobulbs.Flower buds usually emergence from the latent buds at 0-1 node and vegetative buds usually emergence below flowering buds.Pseudobulbs are important vegetative organs,storing nutrition and water.The nutrition status of the plants played the key role in flowering, and environmental factors also effect the growth and flowering. The resuluts show the best temperature for the growth in Oncidium ''Grower Ramsey'' is 20-30C,while for the stalk emergence and development is 20-25C.The vegetative buds emergence and pseudobulbs enlargement of Oncidium ''Grower Ramsey'' shaded at 25% ,55%,and 90% increased with light intensity.Under 90% shading, plants failed to flower.The optimal shading level for flowering was at 55% shading.Under the moderate day/night temperature, the fertilizers of different concentration had no siginificant effects on the growth and flowering.
