Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 森林學系 === 84 === The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of fertilization on the growth of Formosan michelia seedlings. Bassed on the information obtained from the experiment, the nursery manager coued breed the seedlings in the situstion of nutritive equiltbrium. From July to September in 1995, seedlings were fertilized six times. Twelve treatment combinations of N, P with 4 levels of nitrogen (100, 200, 300, 400 kg/ha), and 3 levels (50, 100, 150 kg/ha) of phosphorus fertilizer. The effects of fertilization on the height, morphology, physiological characteristics, root growth potential of seedlings and the nutrient in soil after fertilization were measured.According to the result of the experiment luxur, N300P150(kg/ha) was the best treatment combination for seedling growth height both and root collar growth would be enbaneed predominantly by application of N300( kg/ha). On the contrary, Application of N400(kg/ha) showed poor result, which indicates that luxury of nitrogen fertilizer inhibit the growth of seedlings . In addition the interaction between N and P on seedlings growth was sign ficant. The amount of soluble sugars in plants ws higher when application level of nitrogen fertilizer was higher, but the interaction between N and P fertilizer was no significant. The pH of the medium would be effected by the nitrogen fertilizer. The main effect of phosphorus fertilizer was to increase the total and mean length of new root growrh. Starch concentration was influenced by the interaction of P and N. Therefore, applicationof suitable proporti+on of nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P)fertilizer could promote the growth of seedlings in height and diameter at root collar and improve the physiological charaeteristics of Formosan mochelia seedlings.
