This study was a survey research. The samples were drawn from twelve senior and voctional high schools in Taipei city. There were 995 students sampled. Instruments used in this study were self- differentiation Scale, Coping strategies Scale, and Mental health Scale. Data obtained in this study were analyzed by Pearson product- moment correlation, two way ANOVA, and Path analysis, The main findings were as follows: 1. There were significant positive relationship between self-differentiation and active coping strategies, and negative relationship between self-differentiation and passive coping strategies. There was no relationship between self- differentiation and problem-focused/emotional-focused coping srtategies. 2. There were positive relationship between self-differentiation and mental health. 3. There were negative relationship between mental health and emotional-focused and passive coping strategies. 4. With regard to self-differentiation, there were differences between boys and girls, senior high school and vocational high school students. Girls self-fifferentiation level was higher than boys'', and high school students'' level was higher than vocational high school students''. Especially, vocational high school students were more involved in "triangulation"; "intergenerational intimidation" perceived by girls were less than boys. 5. With regard to coping strategies, girls used emotion-active coping strategies more than boys; high school boys used emotion-passive coping strategies more than vocational high school boys. 6. With regard to mental health, boys'' mental health were better than girls''; high school students'' mental health were better than vocational high school students''. 7. The variables of self-differentiation could predict coping strategies. "Peer intimacy" was the most powerful predictor to predict problem-active, emotion-active, active, and problem-focused coping strategies. " triangulation" was the most powerful predictor to predict problem-passive, emotion-passive, passive, and emotion-focused coping strategies. 8. The variables of self-differentiation adn coping strategies could predict mental health. Emotion-passive coping strategies was the most powerful predictor, "triangulation" the second powerful predictor. Based on the results, implication of the study for education and guidance were disscussed. Suggestions for future research were also proposed. 蔡順良 1996 學位論文 ; thesis 118 zh-TW |
