Description
Summary:博士 === 國立清華大學 === 電機工程研究所 === 84 === Three important techniques: adaptive equalization, coded modulation, and unequal error protection (UEP), are considered in this study for improving the quality of various communication systems. One objective of this research is to analyze the performance of adaptive maximum-likelihood sequence estimation (MLSE) for uncoded and trellis-coded modulation (TCM) systems over multipath fading channels under the consideration of imperfect channel estimates. The other objective is to construct good UEP codes. Three coding schemes, which cover the historical development of coding theory, are considered for UEP: block codes, convolutional codes, and coded modulation.
