Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立台中師範學院 === 初等教育學系 === 84 === The purposes of this study were to explore the contents of political socialization which were suitable for elementary students, and the effects of political socialization on the sixth graders.Research design and instrumentation were conducted by means of analyzing related literature.Five hundred and four sixth graders from elementary schools in Taichung city were selected as the subjects. The data were collected through a structured questionnaire and analyzed by t-test,Anova,Pearson product-moment correlation. The major findings were summarized as follows: 1.The contents of political education which were suitable for elementary students were political knowledge, political confidence, anticipated political participation and national identity. 2.On the whole, the sixth graders scored a little higher than the pass mark on the political knowledge test. 3.The scores of sixth graders on the political attitude scale indicated that their political attitudes were positive. 4.Social economic status was the variable that had significant effect on students'''' responses. The other variables which had lower effect were sex,the experience of class leader, and the language used at home. The students'''' hometown variable had no effect on their responses. 5.The students scores on the different parts of the political attitudes were consistent. So were the scores of the students'''' political knowledge and political attitudes. Implications of these findings were inferred as follows: 1.The contents of social studies have to be arranged to catch up with the change of social environment. 2.The differences among students and the limitations inherent in schools have to be noticed when elementary teachers execute poltical socialization of their students. 3.The opportunity provided by the classmates meeting for practicing citizenship has to be emphasized.
