In this thesis, an emulator for the ROV and distributed control system were developed. The purpose is to obtain knowledge and experience in operation and control through developing these two systems. The emulator was established to provide a framework for future developments in underwater vehicle simulation and experiments, and the hardware of control system here is also flexible for future development of control algorithm. Both the systems developed here are portable, inexpensive, and convenient in maintance. The results of simulations and experiments will be shown in this thesis.
