Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中央大學 === 機械工程學系 === 84 === The dynamics of a rotating Rayleigh beam representing the workpiecein the lathing process, subject to a travelling force at a constant speedalong the axial direction, is studied. A new technique is developed formodeling the reciprocative cutting force on the workpiece. The amplitude of the cutting force is chosen to be either a constant or dependent on themotion of the beam. The reciprocative force are further assumed to travelonly in a single direction or in two different directions. The discretizedequations of motion of the rotating beam are obtained by Galerkin''s method. Then, the response of the rotating beam subject to diferent types of the external travelling forces is obtained exactly or by numerical integration.Furthermore, the stability of the response is determined by the method ofmultiple scales. The effects of varying the rotating frequency, and the moving speed of the force, on the dynamic behaviors of the beam, are also investigated.
