When the modulator is driven by a 417.6 MHz RF signal, pulses with a duration of 53.8 psand peak power of 237 mW are generated at a repitition rate of 835.2 MHz. We have also solved the master equation of the actively mode- locked fiber laserby means of a variational method and compared the calculated results with theexperimental results.
