Summary: | 碩士 === 國立交通大學 === 光電工程研究所 === 84 === In this thesis, we investigate some techniques for
digital information storage in volume holographic memory,
including coding and decoding techniques of optical signal
and interface techniques between the optical system and
Personal Computer. We set up a digital information storage
system with dynamic threshold detection, image shift
compensation, and dynamic range enlargement. With the
techniques involved, we got the optimal condition for the
system. In this system, a volume holographic storage medium
is used, and digital informations are handled with the frame
capacity of 527 bytes per image frame. A storage experiment
of a 32 KB computer file with the data of a color picture is
demonstrated, and the corresponding bit error rate (BER) is
approximately 7%. In another storage experiment for a
computer file of 8 KB size, the BER is lower than 1/100000 .
Our research results have demonstrated the feasibility and
potentiality of digital information storage using volume
holographic memories.
