According to the application of open joints and pressure equalization. *Double Wall* construction is used to reduce the wind load acting on the outside skin in order not only to lead a better safety but also to put the materials in structure with fragmented design into consideration. The research is to investigate through experimental methods for the application of open joint design on the exterior double wall cladding and the influence of pressure variation of the air space on pressure equalization. Through literature collected in the research, there would be a better understanding to the application of open joints and pressure equalization. Moreover, the related test specification and reports also provide a blue print to set up the tes procedure in the paper. A full scale test specimen is built and a mechanical fan is selected to simulate the dynamic wind load acting on side of the exterior cladding with air space on the other side, cladding size, air space thickness and joint width are the factors investigated more tocompare the effect on pressure variation and pressure equalization. Referring to the factors of pressure variation in air space, the outcome of which the bigger width of the open joints is, the smaller facade and the less thickness of air space pressure equalization. Besides, numerical data and charts are analyzed for the continual research. A conclusion is presented at the last chapter to summarize the problem occurred during the experiment and comprehensive suggestions are also discussed and offered to give future studies a better guideline.
