Summary: | 碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 醫學工程學系 === 84 === Intervertebral disc problem is one of the most common cause of
low back pain. Slowly repetitive loading was considered to be
the contributing factor of disc injuries.42 body-disc-body
units were prepared from 14 fresh porcine spines. Six units was
taken as control group for comparison of MRI and with the
experimental group which was the other 36 units subjected
to low cyclic compression test. The experimental group was
further divided into three groups which were subjected to
cyclic compression test at the rate of 10, 20, 30 mm / min
repetitively. 300 cycles were applied in every specimen. The
observation of morphology was obtained through sagittal and
transverse section by using stereomicroscope. The results
indicated, the effect of different speed and geometric
morphology change of the discs by MRI were irrelevant. The
result which different speed versus strength decay of
intervertebral disc was found non-significant. This study
eliminated speed dimension. The relationships between MRI and
anatomic findings were lower correlation. Only nucleus shape
and marginal change were more congruous. About disc failure,
the discs were sure to change of geometric morphology, such as
sagittal section could detect fibers buckling and microcleft.
Transverse section had a phenomenon which fibril generated into
the nucleus. and bleeding around disc. This result showed that
possible cartilage had broken somewhere in spinal end-plate,
although there was not generated visually disc herniation.
Change of disc early degeneration should produce by slowly
repetitive loading. In conclusion, The research of injuries of
acute end-plate and intervertebral disc was offered a reference
of the correspondence of clinical practicable case through
cyclic test.
