They are implemented by antifuse programming technology. They will be compared under same area and performance. We first state out the comparison method which strictly defines the factors of technology and architecture. Then some typical topologies of segmented routing structure are systematically investigated. At last flexibility comparison is performed theoretically. The flexibility criterion is based on partitioning of segments and calculated by enumeration theory. Consequently, some commonly seen routing structures such as row- based type, symmetrical-array type and hierarchical type are compared. To complete the theoretical study about FPGA in this thesis, the discuss of routability for row-based FPGA with segmented routing channel in [Pedr94] is introduced at the final chapter.
