Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 電機工程研究所 === 84 === The purpose of this study is to construct an ultrasonic system for detecting the motion activities of newborn infant that will be identified as infant's breathing rate, tremor, and the other important behaviors. Three ultrasonic measurement methods, the phase difference method, the pulse-echo method and the self- compensation technique, are adopted in this research. The phase difference method is used to measure the relative displacement of every measured point on the body of newborn infant for identifying the kinds and quantities of his behaviors. The pulse-echo method is adopted to measure the absolute distance between the transducers and the infant's body for detecting the error arising from the improper position of measurement. A self- compensation technique based on the measurement of a known distance is used to measure the sound velocity for compensating the error arising from the environment-induced sound velocity variation. A hardwired control unit is also implemented to meet the need of the high operation speed of a high performance measurement system. Besides, a simple but powerful cascade method is adopted to expand the system to monitor several baby containers easily.
