Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 水利及海洋工程學系 === 84 === The experiments are conducted in order to check the validity of the mild-slope equation which is usually employed to predict the elevation of free surface for waves passing through a submerged breakwater. The results show that if the relative water depth on the top of the submerged breakwater is less than 0.1, the inagreement of transmission coefficient between predictions and experiments becomes significant. It is also found that the width of a submerged breakwater has obvious influence on the nonlinear effect of waves. The practicability of using the transmission coefficient of regular waves to represent the ratio of transmission of every component of irregular waves is examined. The results show that the nonlinear interaction should be considered in the case of large width of the submerged breakwater or small relative water depth on the top of the submerged breakwater.
