Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 化學工程學系 === 84 === In this thesis, the pencil matrix is applied to solvedifferential algebraic equations.The considered linear differentialalgebraic equations are of constant coefficientor time-varying coefficient.The Index is used to classify the differential algebraic equations and we showhow to reduce a DAE with higher Index to that of Index 0 or Index 1.Farthermore, the multistep numericalmethod is used to find the numerical solutions to DAEs.This thesis also discusses in detail how to apply the coordinates transformto obtainthe nonlinear semi- explicit differential algebraic equations from nonlineardifferential algebraic equations. A procedure of reducing a nonlinear DAEof high Index tolow Index nonlinear semi-explicit differential algebraic equations is descibed.
