Summary: | 碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 工業設計學系 === 84 === A systematic method of integrating CAD and CAE techniques tto
automotive shape design is addressed in this article. In this
method, the design procedure is divided into three stages,
including the concept development, 3D configurations
construction and aerodynamics analysis. In the first stage,
several reference shapes are searched from a consultative image
database built in this study by inputting image word(s). Based
on these referentialshapes, the design concept is to be
developed. After tthe design ideas are obtained, the process
enters the second stage, in which the 3D automobile models are
constructed with Beta-Splines by using the program constructed
in this study. The 3D configurations can be modified by
regulating shape parameters(bias β1,and tension β2). After
completing the 3D shape models, the third stage is entered. In
this stage, the aerodynamic characteristics of the constructed
configurations are analyzed with the CAE package named PHOENICS
which was developed by CHAM company. The analyzed results are
then used to suggest the designer whether the configurations
should be modifiedor not. In this manner, a product with good
appearence and high performance can be obtained. The procedure of
this systematic method can also be used to develop other
products such as an oven to promote design efficiency.
