in computer networking: Applications such as the World-Wide Web
(WWW) has become a popular means of information dissemination
for users with or without computer skills. The amount of
information available on-line through vast the Internet has been
growing at a staggering rate. This growth rate has by far
exceeded the rate of growth in network speed, as has the number
of individuals and organizations seeking access to this
information. In lieu of a traditional client-server model of
information processing, which is both inflexible and potentially
very inefficient, a mobile agent system has the potential to
achieve a more efficient and flexible network system. A mobile
agent is a program which moves between computers, taking its
state along with it. Mobile agents could search database on the
Internet for information, locate and negotiate for services
accessible via the net, and much more. This is a particularly
attractive model for both wireless and dialup networks where a
user might not be able to maintain a permanent network
connection, as well as for situation where the amount of
information to be processed is large relative to the network
bandwidth. In this paper, we have been developing an experimental
infrastrcuture that employs intelligent messaging/agent
techniques and enhanced electronic mail system for the support
of mobile agent across heterogeneous networks to access the WWW.
The current WWW server structure will remain intact to provide
maximum compatibility. We also implement a prototype to show
that how mobile agent work in this infrastructure. Keywords:
