Since Taiwan small and populous, it exhibits obvious
urbanization . Recently, as ways of living, size of economic
activitles and the industy differ from they used to be,
cities become highly populous more and more . This project
is to esta blish a data base of residental building Energy
Conservation,in Taichung, also to develop and reorganize design
guidelines ofCollective Housing Bui1ding for professionals .
This research was a preliminary study on indoor noise
environment in the collective housing in Taichung city . Finding
about subjective mental factors and objective physical values
were obtained through questionnaires and instru-menta survey .
The results weretionnaires and instrumenta analyzed by means of
statistical methods.
Based on the outcome of the analysis, conclusion of each
investigation stage, and proposal for an evalution index were
completed . Collect and exam ine relative
data to set up study frames, methods and procedures for this
research . Decide also the scope and subjects of the
investigation . Propose an expected result .Define the meaning
of pergormance of the collective housing, its specific features
and categories . Formulate reasearch methods, including using
questionnaires, instrumental measuring and evaluation analysis .
The datas of this investigation are analysised by the method of
"Anova Analysis ", in order to check the influence of personal
backhrounds (sex, age, family component etc . ) and living
levels (living area, bedroom number etc . ).
Investgating the resea rches befo re to fig ure out the
componemt elements of energy use, and to build up a system of
evaluation for collective housing building . Analysising the
chi-square test of the collective housing building by factor
analysis, and measuring the importance .
After analyzing the above phenomenon in detail, preliminary
design strategi es and guidelinesfor improvent in the aspects of
shadings,ventilation, heat exhaust, insulation and thermal mass,
subject to the climatic conditions and technica1 context of
building construction in Taichung, are presented .
