issue in injection-molding process; it is especially important
in the mold design for part appearance and strength. Weld-line
also influence appearance of the part, Weld-line strength be
elicited by poor molecular binding and frozen-in molecular
orientation. Because Weld-line form at the contract interface
of two melt fronts. So at mold design of multi-cavity system
is not void to Weld-line, therefore at single-cavity usually
be formed, especial to variable thickness and complex part.
However Weld-line is not easy to eliminated, but could form in
unimportance position by mean of changing gate position
and runner size. Although the development of CAE has been very
helpful for interpret Weld-line position automatically. The
success of using CAE still needs the very professional and
dedicated knowledge to interpret the analysis results. In
addition, the existing CAE tools cannot predict the weld-line
strength although it is more important than weld-line position
while considering part performance. The whole process is very
time-consuming and inefficient. CAE already has very good exact
prediction for injection mold. Therefore, prediction of Weld-
line strength will be used C-FLOW and C-PACK in C-MOLD software
to analysis flow data. So by mean of analysis flow data,Weld-
line theory will predicate Weld-line strength. Using many
plastics and process parameters are verified theory through
an experimental study.In addition, This paper is aimed to
study the design theory and concept of weld-line strength.
