| Summary: | 碩士 === 元智大學 === 機械工程研究所 === 83 === Design process plays an important role in product design. It
directly affects the performance, quality, cost, and product
development time. However, design activity is complex and
uncertain in nature. Researchers have been trying to develop
systematic design methodology and tools to help designers in
the design process. This paper presents a computer system
which integrates a design process module, a design database and
a design management module. The design database stores design
document and past experience of similar designs, while the
design process module systematically leads the designer through
specification development, system decomposition, and design
concept evaluation. Finally, a calculator case design example
is presented to illustrate this system.
