碩士 === 淡江大學 === 資訊管理研究所 === 83 === 　　The purpose of this study is to examine the efectiveness of multimedia presentation for management support under different task complexity. More specifically, laboratory experiment is employed to investigate the decision support characteristics using ultimedia presentation such as animation, graph, and table. The independent variables selected in the study are information presentation mode using multimedia, information overload and task complexity. The dependent variables chosen are decison-making time, decision quality, the percepton of task difficulty by users, the readability of information presentatio, to identify specific value, and to compare related information. 　　The results indicate that there are no effects of presentation mode on decision-making performance in a low-complexity task environment. The animated table is more effective than pure table in comparing related information when conducting middle-complexity task. Under a high-complexity task environment, the results show that, in interpretation accuracy, animated table is superior to pure table, and pure graph is superior to animated graph. Further, users provided subset information subsequently perform better than those who presented complete set information once.
