Summary:碩士 === 淡江大學 === 歐洲研究所 === 83 === The purpose of this thesis is to study the regional integration and development between Spain and EC, (1986- 1993). In order to prove the content of this thesis, as well as to discuss the benefits and disadvantages of interaction between EC and Spain, this essay is based on economic integration, regional disparity and foreign relations. Four points are discussed in this thesis: 1.The world tendency of regional integration, the interdependence between politic and economy. 2.With the purpose of discovering the effects that integration into the Community has had on the spanish economy. The probable effects on the Spanish economy of the two anticipated permanent shocks: the Single European Market and the Economic and Monetary Union. 3.The paper offers a general account of the levels and recent evolution of the regional disparities in Spain and EC. Furthermore, the role EC'' structural funds have played in relation to the economic development of the Spanish Regions. 4.A analysis of the global impact of the Spanish and Portuguese governments in the EC decisionmaking process. This section evaluates the two Iberian entrants in terms of various EC policies in several areas of the world. According to this study, we can realize that Spanish integration into the EC met with the approval of a broad spetrum of society, the actual process of incorporation was experiences with a mixture of hope and fear. As has been shown, it has proved positive. Although challenges will undoubtedly have short, medium and long-term effects. Spain''s partici- pation in this process implies a strong commitment for the country''s complete integration in Europe, a show of confidence in possibilities; this reflects, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the existence of decisive political, as well as economic,r advancing down the road of integration.
