Especially, school textbooks authorized and published by the government since 1903 placed special emphasis on Japanese history. After World War II, "postwar education reform" in Japan started with self- examination of the incorrect concepts written in school textbooks. The government was harshly criticized for its autocratic control over the contents of textbooks. Under the reform, the government was to only screen textbooks produced by private companies. However, the government is now reinforcing its control over the course of study by severe screening and adopting regulation. This paper will discuss the historical importance of the Japanese course of study, screening system, and adoption system, which regulate the textbooks used in school education. The paper is composed of Introduction, Course of Study, Screening System, Adoption of Textbooks and conclusion. Introduction presents an overview of the Japanese textbook system and briefly discusses its problems and the consequences of the reforms. The current situation and the historical tran- sitions are described in each chapter along with a specific theme repectively. Fujii Shizue 藤井志津枝 1995 學位論文 ; thesis 205 zh-TW |
