Description
Summary:碩士 === 東海大學 === 建築(工程)學系 === 83 === Stage 1.(1895-1911) -In this stage, the basic form types were gengrall inherited from " Chin" dynesty. Arcades in Taipei were Mainly made of brick, and arch was the commonest element in facades. The only changes about arcade was the usage of R. C beam. It replaced the arch structure, thus increased the span of arcade. Stage 2.(1912-1929) -Due to the action of "Urban renew", streets in taipei were straightened and wildened and themajority of old townhouse arcades were ruined. Colonial government took this chance torecreat a street space totem by introducing western architecture style of decoration (including renaissance, baroque, etc.) into Taipei. Thus stimulated the flournishness of "Pai- Low-Thow". Stage 3.(1930-1945) -In the beginning of 30'' decade, the furorof modernism and development of industry renewed the sense of archirecture aesthetics. Instead of complexdecoration, the arcade facade tended to chase simplification. Such tendency lead to a revolution of arcade style. Therefor the primary character of Taipei arcade facades became frugal and purified. 1. Natural condition - Including local climate, resource, geography. These effected the prototype of arcade. 2. Political step - This is the most powerful factor. It set clear criterions about constration material, scale of window, and even privily controled the style of arcade facades. 3. Form lmitating process - Such process happened in 20'' dacade. Arcade facades were fulled of western classic elements. Except the polital controlling, it''s partly because of the occurence of imitating process.
