quality improvement and the necessity of building more complete
and suitable quality situation. Duncan(1956) proposed a
criterion to measure approximately the expected net income of a
process under monitoring of an X-bar charts when there exists
randam shifts in the process mean. Traditional control charts
which are setup are based on data which is assumed to be
independent and normally distributed. However,this assumption
is unpractical. The presence of correlated data has a great
impact on the performence of control charts, causing an
increase of false alarms. Thus, we wish to modify the
traditional economic design model by utilizing time series
analysis approach, and make the model more consistent with the
reality.
