Parameters such as the directions and types of bridges, the directions and types of earthquakes, and the stiffnesses of foundations are all considered in the analyses. Two different types of real bridges are selected. The , the transverse, and the vertical models for each bridge are analyzed. Rigid foundation, flexible foundation, and equivalent spring models are all studied individually. Both the horizontal and the vertical seismic records of the Taipei 1115 earthquake and the Northridge earthquake are utilized in the analyses. Results of the analyses show that the acceleration of decks for bridges with higher fundamental vibration frequencies are smaller and the transverse responses of bridges subjected to the Taipei 1115 earthquake are higher than those due to the Northridge earthquake with the same PGA. Besides, the responses of the with flexible foundation are higher than those with rigid thus the traditional bridge design which assumes rigid foundation might under estimate the maximum responses of bridge Shi-Shuenn Chen 陳希舜 1995 學位論文 ; thesis 135 zh-TW
