It was found that the undrained shear strengths obtained from SBPM were 100% higher than those from conventional shear strength tests. An empirical equation based on regression analysis of SBPB tests and conventional shear strength tests was then proposed. The ratios of initial Young''s modulus to undrained shear strength and unloading/reloading Young''s modulus to undrained shear strength are approximately equal to 400 and 1000 ,respectively .The coefficient of lateral earth pressure at rest is in the range of 0.48 and 0.85, respectively.
