Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 工程技術研究所 === 83 === The environment is always one of our major design objects. Therefore, how to know and to study the environment is an issue in architecture. This thesis attempts to provide a method for observing the environment from the viewpoint of the overall structure. The purpose is to increase our understanding about the environment and thus to generate new design ideas. The attitude taken to see the objects in the built and to think the problems of city space is based on the theory of Structuralism. The form of priori, stability, abstraction and the importance of analytical methods are the forcus of this Specifically, this study attempts to use the network of paths and geometrical attributes to establish a system for describing, analyzing and explaining partially the problems of morphological composition and transformation in the city The method of analysis consists of two parts: 1.A description grammer which is made up of morphological rules. 2.A recording method which is made up of symbols and labels. Through this study, we find that city space can be transformed into abstract " language system ". And the structure can be described and analyzed at three different classes: 1.City class --﹛Whole﹜=﹛{symbol 83 \f "Symbol"|}﹝ the paths﹞﹜ 2.Path class --﹝Path﹞=﹝{symbol 83 \f "Symbol" |}(node * narrow 3.Unit class -- Path ({symbol 83 \f "Symbol"|}( the position of {symbol 83 \f "Symbol"|}(rules) )
