This group includs 13 members with the motivation to give up smoking in a health teaching class of a medical center in Taipei city, and the researcher leads to proceed eight group sessions discussing about smoking cessation and group development. Each session was taped. In addition, the Hill Interaction Matrix(HIM) scale and a revised group climate questionnaire(GCQ-s) was applied for this study. The result revealed:1.There were 11 members went through the whole course. In addition, this group had a higher rate of attendance(81.82﹪), a lower rate of withdrawl(15.4﹪), a higher degree of homogeneity, and a stronger motivation. 2.The inter- action frequency of the leader and members fluctuated during this group process. 3.The four stage of this group development were initial, transition, working, and ending. 4.The verbal interaction of the leader and members were much the same. 5.The content style of this group sessions was "member-centered", and work style was "pre-worked". The result showed that the group sessions did have "great therapeutic value" on members. 6. Group climate evaluated by GCQ-s showed that engagement index was increased as the course proceeded, conflict index declined, and avoiding index increased during the entire course. 7.In conclu- sion, there were seven members give up smoking, four members reduce the amount of smoking. It is an evidence that supportive group has therapeutic effect in cessation smoking. Zhou, Zhao Fang 周照芳 1995 學位論文 ; thesis 110 zh-TW |

tionship of leader and members'' verbal interaction in a smoking
cessation group, (2)analyze the interaction model of this group,
development, and (4)explore group climate.
This group includs 13 members with the motivation to give up
smoking in a health teaching class of a medical center in Taipei
city, and the researcher leads to proceed eight group sessions
discussing about smoking cessation and group development. Each
session was taped. In addition, the Hill Interaction Matrix(HIM)
scale and a revised group climate questionnaire(GCQ-s) was
applied for this study.
The result revealed:1.There were 11 members went through the
whole course. In addition, this group had a higher rate of
attendance(81.82﹪), a lower rate of withdrawl(15.4﹪), a higher
degree of homogeneity, and a stronger motivation. 2.The inter-
action frequency of the leader and members fluctuated during
this group process. 3.The four stage of this group development
were initial, transition, working, and ending. 4.The verbal
interaction of the leader and members were much the same. 5.The
content style of this group sessions was "member-centered", and
work style was "pre-worked". The result showed that the group
sessions did have "great therapeutic value" on members. 6. Group
climate evaluated by GCQ-s showed that engagement index was
increased as the course proceeded, conflict index declined, and
avoiding index increased during the entire course. 7.In conclu-
sion, there were seven members give up smoking, four members
reduce the amount of smoking. It is an evidence that supportive
group has therapeutic effect in cessation smoking.
