The thesis consists of 5 chapters： 1. the theoretical basis,2. the semantic development of the temperature words in Chinese, 3. the temperature words in Min dialects, 4. the semantic extension of the temperatgure words in Chinese, and 5. conclusions. Finally, we make the result of this thesis. That is, there are various combinations of the signified and the signifier of the symbol of themperature words in different linguistic systems in Chinese.
