| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立清華大學 === 語言學系 === 83 === In this thesis, we present a semantic analysis of the
temperature words in Chinese for the purpose of understanding
not only the relationship between the signified and the
signifier of each word, but also among a set of the words in a
single linguistic system as well as among different linguistic
systems. The thesis consists of 5 chapters： 1. the theoretical
basis,2. the semantic development of the temperature words in
Chinese, 3. the temperature words in Min dialects, 4. the
semantic extension of the temperatgure words in Chinese, and 5.
conclusions. Finally, we make the result of this thesis. That
is, there are various combinations of the signified and the
signifier of the symbol of themperature words in different
linguistic systems in Chinese.
