It can decompose time-varying signals into multiresolution. In this paper, we use wavelet transforms to apply to array spatial signals for the improvement of performance in direction-of- arrival (DOA) estimation and the bearings tracking of multi- ple moving targets. In the applications of array signal pro- cessing, the incident angles resolvability of direction-of- arrival estimation usually be reduced in the environment of more noisy interference. For this point, we use the discrete wavelet transform method to decompose the array outputs into multiresolution for the reduction of spatial noise, then es- timate directions-of-arrival by high-resolution eigenstructure -based methods such as MUSIC. So the estimated angles resol- ution can be increased and the estimation performance is im- proved. In addition, discrete wavelet transform methods also can apply to the bearings tracking of multiple moving targets. The conventional methods of bearings tracking, such as the improved recursively updated method, usually have comparable tracking errors in the environment of more large noise power. For this point, we use recursive discrete wavelet method filter out the noise of time-varing spatial spectrum.
