The numerical model uses the tool temperatures which is measured by a few sensors placed on the tool surface to pedict the unknown boundary temperature distri- bution, i.e., by an inverse technique. The inverse technique consists two major part : (1)the optimization method, and (2) the method used to solve 1 2D, steady state, heat conduction. Also included is the analysis of methods improving the effici- ency of the prediction. Some penalty functions were added to improve the original optimization method.
