WU 吳偉慈 碩士 國立交通大學 傳播科技研究所 83 This research focuses on actresses'' image in music videos in including their sex role stereotypes, aggressive and prosocial behavior, and demographic features.In addition, some other factors such as language, the director''s and singer''s gender were studied in this research. A total of 226 Mandarin and 63 Taiwanese concept videos was from three music channels(Chinese Satellite Network, Channel V, Tai-Hsin cable Company) during a two week period. A simple random sample of 100 Mandarin videos was selected, the 63 Taiwanese videos were all included. All the 163 selected videos were content analyzed. Statistical tests such as t-tests, ANOVA, chi-square and z-score were used to test the research hypotheses. The results of this research are as follow: In general, women portrayed in music videos were of middle or class, of middle or lower level of education, and holding jobs of lower level.
