This is based on an integrated electrooptic modulator (IOM) which serves as an electro-optic harmonic mixer and its nonlinear characteris- tics is utilized for measuring the bandwidth of a photodetector. The bandwidth of this technology can be higher than for the bandwidth of the IOM.It is successily demonstrated a photo- detector with a bandwidth of about 3GHz .We estimate the bandwidth of this technique will exceed 100 GHz if we have an IOM for which the half-wave voltage is less than 3 Volt and bandwidth is 5 GHz.Moreover,a comparsion of several different methods for measuring the bandwidth of photodetector is presented and analyzed.
