Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立交通大學 === 土木工程研究所 === 83 === This research proposed a statistical approach to calibrate the cost funtions for four fifferent types of streets by using the data collected in Hsinchu City. Cost funtions are classifyed into several categories accroding to their application purposes. In addition to corresponding link traffic volume, the proportion of turning movements, opposite traffic flows and the cycle length of traffic signal are also taken into account the effects of conflicting traffic and signal control. Polynomial and exponential forms are considered in this research. The model of cost function is first formulated as the sum of two submodels: link travel time submodel and intersection crossing time submodel, which are calibrated separately. Then a single cost function is also developed by constructing the relationship between the total travel time and related variables. The results show that explanatory ability of the sum of two separated submodels are not significantly better than that of a single model. Furthermore, the exponential cost function models are preferred due to their characteristics to prevent the appearance of negative travel time in prediction.
