developed for years. Eigensystem realization algorithm (ERA) is
one of the time domain parameter identification. The algorithm
makes use of Hankel matrix composed from impulse response
functions and the rank of Hankel matrix is determined by
singular -value decomposition. For ERA, the triple matrix
(system matrix, input matrix matrix) is a minimum realization,
since the triple matrices have minimum order. Examples are used
to evaluate the effectiveness of ERA. Finally, experience from
this investigation and limitations for modal parameter
identification are also discussed.
